PITTSBURGH – Cranberry Square, a market-leading retail center located in Cranberry Township, will soon welcome the newly reinvented Public Lands store, attracting outdoor enthusiasts from across Western Pennsylvania. Owned by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Public Lands will replace the brand’s existing Field & Stream concept with an increased focus on adventure activity gear.

Cranberry Square is owned and operated by M & J Wilkow (a commercial real estate firm with several properties across the Greater Pittsburgh region) and Alto Real Estate Funds. The property is home to top national retailers, including Best Buy and Barnes & Noble, and is shadow anchored by Walmart and Costco.

“We’re thrilled to continue our long-term partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods as they prepare for the grand opening of Public Lands,” said Martin Sweeney, senior Vice President at M & J Wilkow. “We’ve had a long history of success creating centers that can stand the test of time in Pittsburgh and across the country. This new store concept is the exact type of upgrade that keeps a shopping center relevant.”

Construction on the brand-new Public Lands space is currently underway, with plans to open in August. Dick’s Sporting Goods has committed to a long-term, 12-year lease for the 50,000 square-foot location in Cranberry. This is the first of two Field & Stream rebrand conversions set for 2021.

“This transformation of Public Lands marks a series of developments at Cranberry Square,” added Sweeney. “We are currently in the final stages of bringing several new national retailers to the center.”
