Gateway Shopping Center announced today its second partnership with the Tuckahoe-Eastchester and Rye City Lions Clubs for their “Pop The Trunk” Clothing Donation Drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of Westchester.
The clothing drive will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10 AM – 12 PM. Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for donations of clothing, footwear, linens, and accessories. These donations provide a vital source of support for their youth mentoring program serving children in Westchester County. The drive-up event will be kept safe with social distancing, required masks and gloves.
“We are very happy to host a spring donation benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Gateway Port Chester General Manager, David Zimmerman. “We had tremendous success collecting donations before the holidays in 2020. Last fall we collected 11,000 pounds of used clothing for area families in need, filling two box trucks with clothes.”
“We are so grateful to the Gateway Port Chester Shopping Center as well as the Tuckahoe-Eastchester and Rye City Lions Clubs for spearheading this ‘Pop The Trunk’ clothing donation event. This has been such a challenging year for your disadvantaged Westchester youth, and we are grateful for their initiatives and support,” said Valerie Brown, Executive Director of BBBS.
