On Saturday, May 18th from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm Magnolia Park Shopping Center invites the community to attend an unveiling and celebratory event for the new “Magnolia Park Play Patch.” Situated off I-385 on Woodruff Road, Magnolia Park is the area’s premier destination for shopping, dining and entertainment in Greenville. The Play Patch play area is meant to promote green space and outdoor activity, with a turf playing surface, sitting areas for adults, and animal-themed play equipment for children. The area also features plants, trees and flowers, complete with sun-blocking shade structures stretching over parts of the play equipment.

The free, family-friendly event will kick-off with a dedication and bubble wands will be provided for attendees to participate in a celebratory bubble ceremony, immediately followed by live performances and an exclusive meet and greet with the Beat Bugs, bug-characters from the animated, Netflix-original children’s television show at noon and 2:00 pm. All festivities will be held on the grounds of the new Play Patch, located in front of the Regal Cinemas. In addition, all those who attend are invited to participate in an educational activity conducted by the Roper Mountain Science Center throughout the duration of this celebration.

“We are so excited for the opening of the Play Patch and intend for this project to promote the importance of green space, as well as exercise and outdoor play,” says Darcy Rutzen, Vice President of Retail Property Management of M & J Wilkow. “Magnolia Park has been a place of shopping and entertainment for years now, and we hope that the addition of the Play Patch to the area will enhance the space, making it more family friendly and enjoyable for all ages,” says Rutzen.
