M & J Wilkow announced its recent win of two Silver Marketing Awards for Excellence and Innovation (MAXI) in the category of Traditional Marketing – Sales Activation for both Shopping Centers under 500,000 sq. ft. and Shopping Centers over 500,001 sq. ft.

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) announced the winners of the 2018 U.S. MAXI Awards at RECon 2018, highlighting the retail real estate industry’s most innovative events, programs and technologies that add value to shopping centers and companies across the country. The awards were held on Sunday, May 20th at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

M & J Wilkow and its partner MetLife earned a MAXI Silver Award in recognition of the return of the popular New Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop at Town Center of Mililani. The community shopping center, located in the heart of Oahu, Hawaii, was host to the family friendly New Year’s celebration featuring a 12′ tall illuminated pineapple countdown, synced to the ball drop in Times Square. Performances throughout the event celebrated the diversity of the Mililani community and incorporated traditional Hawaiian culture through music and dance. The event’s headlining acts included Hawaiian reggae star, Mike Love and award-winning band, Maunalua, who played to an at capacity crowd exceeding 5,000 attendees.

A MAXI Silver Award was also presented to M & J Wilkow and its partner BIG Shopping Centers for their holiday event, 12 Days of Free Santa Photos, designed to bring families and holiday shoppers to The Waterfront, a regional lifestyle shopping center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 12 Days of Free Santa Photos attracted approximately 7,500 visitors to the center.
